Community
Family Life Services In response to the needs of the poor, homeless
and exoffenders in the community at First Trinity Lutheran Church started Community
Family Life Services in 1969. At first CFLS reached out to those families who
had a loved one incarcerated and to those who were recently released from prison.
Today CFLS, a faith-based independent non-profit, has as its mission to facilitate
personal growth, independence, and integration into a healthy community through
a "continuum of care," for the low-income and homeless in our community.
First
Trinity remains heavily involved with Community Family Life Services through financial
support of its mission, shared facilities, and providing volunteers. Volunteers
can participate in student tutoring, telephone/clerical support, and employment training.
