Lifeline Partnership

Faithfully serving persons with developmental disabilities and their families since 1954.

Lifeline Partnership is nonprofit organization for persons with developmental disabilities and their families, based at First Trinity Lutheran Church. Its mission is to help people with mental retardation and other developmental disabilities to thrive spiritually and socially. Started in 1954 by Mrs. Catherine Meyer as a Sunday School for children with special needs, the organization has since grown to encompass a whole range of services:

  • Spiritual: weekly Sunday school (now serving adults) held 10:00 AM at First Trinity; Gospel dramas and mimes; monthly Faith & Light Gatherings
  • Social/recreational: seasonal and holiday-themed dances; performing arts workshops; outings; picnics; and more.
  • Advocacy and resource linkages: linking persons with developmental disabilities to local government agencies or community-based service providers, according to their needs.
  • Community outreach: Speaking to local groups and churches about topics such as "Welcoming Persons with Disabilities," "Starting a Ministry for Persons with Developmental Disabilities," and "Reaching Out to Persons with Disabilities."
