“We can rebuild our homes with orders for our crafts,” says Jean-Claude Dumas, a carver in Haiti. He and other river stone carvers live in Léogâne, in an area devastated by the earthquake.
Jean-Claude works with Comité Artisanal Haitïen, a 30+ year SERRV partner in Haiti that connects 2,000 individual
artisans to markets for their crafts.
Since the earthquake hit Haiti in January 2010, artisans use the sales of their crafts to rebuild not just their homes and workshops, but their lives.
You can support artisans like Jean-Claude through purchasing beautiful gift items provided by the Lutheran World Relief/SERRV handcraft project.
Support Bread for the World by purchasing Christmas cards.
