Info for First Trinity members and neighbors:We need 1-2 volunteers weekly to put together the bags of groceries following a set “grocery list” for the bags.

If you would like to bring food for the pantry here’s a list : canned vegetables, tomatoes, tomato sauce, beans, baked beans, fruit, meat (tuna, Spam, chicken), dried pasta, rice, peanut butter, jelly, boxed cereals. Right now, we are in need of canned fruit!

WE have an IMMEDIATE NEED for cereal. Standing needs for tuna, salmon, cereal, canned fruit, apple sauce, peanut butter, jelly, canned vegetables, mac n cheese, rice, pasta, spaghetti sauce, baked beans, chili, jiffy mix (cornbread or brownie), and any food that can be prepared in the microwave (Chef Boyardee, etc.).

June 2011 In case you missed it, there was an article on the front page of the Washington Post on Saturday about the Food Bank. In brief, money is tight for them and they will begin charging $0.10 a pound for produce. At any case, this will mean higher costs for the deliveries on Tuesdays. The 40# boxes of peaches will now cost $4.00--still a great value, but higher costs than before.
